ABOUT

Meet Allison & Sean

7.18.26
The day I will marry my best friend.  The one i laugh with, live for, dream with, and love.

Allison:
Our first date was Aug. 3rd, 2024. We met at a Costco to go to a car show in Golden. We got pizza before going to watch the cars drive through Golden. The date was easy, I remember him being a gentleman opening the car door for me and playing worship music. One of our conversations was about a church sermon that talked about the roles of a woman and man in a family. We talked about a question I had. But I remember texting my mom after the date saying that this is a man that I could see leading me.

Sean:
I picked her up and we went to downtown Golden. Saw a car show, got dinner and walked around. We got ice cream to finish the date off. It was fun. I felt like I liked her.

First Date

Allison:
We got tickets for the Maroon Bells to hike the Four Pass Loop in June and his friend Josh was going to join us. The day of the hike we started driving to the Maroon Bells at 1 am. When we got there at 5ish in the morning we realized we didn't have parking permits and had to wait until 7 for the bus shuttle to open. We got to the trailhead around 8 am. We planned to hike clockwise on the four pass loop which is 27 miles with 7,000-9,000 ft of elevation gain. Josh was having some trouble with altitude as he had flown in from Hawaii the day before. He brought a nice camera for the trip (which made me slightly suspicious). About 4 miles in Josh was experiencing more symptoms and pain and we started talking about maybe having to bail. Josh and Sean kept bringing up Snowmass lake and trying to make it there. Snowmass lake was at the end of the loop for us. We decided to keep pushing. The day was beautiful. Josh got worse and was slowing down. Sean was ahead of us when Josh could no longer keep going. We were near the West Maroon Pass when I caught up with Sean. We decided to go to the pass and then head back down to Josh who was in the fetal position on a rock. The pass was a little cloudy due to it sprinkling on us but still beautiful. We took a couple pictures, and I was ready to go back and check on Josh. Sean said to wait a minute as he turned around and reached into his waist belt on his backpack and pulled out the ring. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Fun detail that he doesn't know, his tongue was blue from a jolly rancher that another hiker gave us. We hiked back down to Josh and my first question was do my parents know? He said yes, and driven out to them to ask for my hand. I didn't believe at first but he had gone out to Utah while I was out of town to ask. He drove 16 hours in one day, because he didn't want to lie to me. He had just told me that he went to the mountains that day and I didn't ask any deeper questions about it. We camped overnight at the Maroon Bells and then met with some friends the next day that knew he was doing this and threw a small engagement dinner.

Sean:
We had this trip plan for the Maroon Bells for a while. I had thought if I can ask her parents without knowing, get the ring and have Josh as a photographer I could make it happen. Was able to have it work out. We went to the Maroon Bells, I asked and she said yes. After that we went to a friends house and did fishing and paddle boarding. If none of those details hadn't worked out, the proposal would have been postponed until I came up with a new plan.
